The Mining league this year offered a rare chance to visit Falmouth’s impressive main pitch. Falmouth batted first and found scoring rather easy as Farrar ( 2-0-16-0) and Edwards ( 2-0-23-2) conceded over 40 runs off the first 4 overs. A degree for control was provided by Van Lingen ( 4-0-25-0), and Matt Adams ( 4-1-7-1) , and some amazing fielding as Methigion manufactured 4 run outs with a number of direct hits. Additionally there were also some excellent catches, but Falmouth ended on a useful 129 for 9.
The Methigion reply initially looked promising with a good partnership between Hymas ( 17) and Quick ( 30*), however after Quicks retirement the scoring marked slowed not helped it should be said by a torpid 18 from Farrar. There was a later flurry form Van Lingen ( 17) , but the game was by then lost as Methigion ended on 95 for 7.
