The weather has been holding up very well so far this season, which is probably a little more than could be said for Methigion’s league record.
Wednesday saw a youthful Perranporth team elect to bowl after winning the toss. In the spirit of fairness their captain rotated the bowling around his younger team members, which along with the already relatively slow pitch, meant the ball was not coming onto the bat well. This proved quite challenging to set a decent total, and although wickets weren’t coming thick and fast, neither were runs. We finished our 20 overs on 73-7, the highlights being Parameswaran 19 and Arumugam 14
Perranporth’s reply was fairly brutal – they only needed 10 overs to get their target and it’s fair to say that the wickets column was not overly full in their scorebook.
Not Methigion’s finest league outing, but there’s always next week…
