Our final evening game of 2017 at Laddock, the home side won the toss and elected to bat in a 16 over game. Their intent was soon demonstrated as Farrar’s first ball disappeared into the field for 6. The positive batting continued with several more maximums and only Tiley ( 4-0-17-0) stemming the tide. The fielding side were a little depleted as Bebb and Hymas didn’t arrive until half time, apparently detained by something called medicine. With short boundaries Laddock finished on 130 for 3, an impressive total.
Methigion opened with James ‘ text me when we’re batting’ Bebb (21*) and Phil Dommett ( 16) , approached the target with gusto before a large rain could brought the game to an end with Methigion 44 for 1 after 5.2 overs. RVLs (0*) enthusiasm for running between the wickets was somewhat reduced in the transition between animated spectator and batsman.
So we ended with a draw or as a Robin mischievously suggested a D/L win…..
